Mind Golf Stance
Your mind must help with your stance, thus I like to call this “mind golf stance”. In golf mental training, we use visualization to help form our mechanical bodies to perform like what our physical golf teachers tell us is best.
For example, if your teacher tells us how to improve our stance this is how you get your mind to put you into that configuration, each and every time.
Before you set up over a ball, place your favorite tour player over it. See them, in your minds eye in just the stance your physical golf teacher wants. See their foot placement, hands, torso etc. See them perfectly down to the last detail.
Close your eyes for just a second and visualize the exact stance you want. Then open your eyes, and move over to address the ball.
Form your stance and your mind will make the adjustments from the visualization. You are going a long way to program your mind to lead your body. After all we know the game is 90 percent mental, so why not use your mind to form a habit of your golf stance. This is what we call the mind golf stance.
You must understand your mind will never do any thing wrong; it only does the right things, but the only way it knows what right is, is by what you focusing on at that moment. So the visualization helps your mind in that you telling it the outcome you want to have, and it will mobilize all you have to make that happen.
Every do a bad shot and then say “gosh I’m having a bad day?” Of course you have the rest of the day continued to spiral down and you wondered why you even play the game. True huh. Well, you got focusing on what the bad day and your mind said, “Oh, he wants to have a bad day, I can do that!” It removed your skill sets down to make sure you had a bad day, because that is what you were telling it to do by your focus. Focus on only what you want to have happen, not what you DON’T want!
Another example is have you ever been up on the tee and you have a water hazard in front of you? You know you’re skilled enough to get over it. But you say to yourself “don’t hit it in the water”, and what do you do? You alter a perfectly good golf swing to … hit it in the water! Why? That is what you focused on and that is what you mind thought you wanted. So it took over to achieve the outcome of your focus. Now you can admit that here as we are all alone, but isn’t that very true. So in golf mental training, we use how our mind works to approach a far better outcome. Just focus on what you want not what you don’t want to happen. It’s best to have this focus in a routine, and that is what Vision1golf does in spades. You need a good golf strategy working for you out there on the course and in your training too! Now you understand the term: “Mind Golf” because we are starting to use our minds to form our golfing experience; not the random bad shots and high scores. Those can start to fall behind you with the vision1golf program. This, you can consider as another lesson in your golf training course.
