Golf mind strategy

Here at vision1golf we have both a strategy for you to play better but also one for you to optimize your training. Be it with putting (make sure to view the putting drills page), chipping, irons or drivers; we have a very unique approach that gets your mind into the game of golf, but in a very strategic way. Now in these pages I will explore parts of the whole program so you can see from my approach, you do in fact train your mind in a new way, a new way to think about golf plus you get a strategy.

Lets take the training side first. You golfers train completely wrong, I might as well come out and tell you that straight away. You go to the driving range and get a bucket of balls and hit, say a five iron, again and again, and you finish off your bucket of balls. You feel that you are hitting pretty well until you go out for a round of golf and you hit your 5 iron horribly! And why? Well, simple. You trained wrong. We are creatures of habit. In martial arts we say “you will fight like you train”. Well, out on the course you started with a driver, then walked or road to your next shot, which might be the 5 iron, and set up… pulled the trigger and hit it horribly. Because you didn’t train your body to pull shots off, in a sequence of clubs, rather you trained only with a 5 iron. You stood there hitting ball after ball and that doesn’t happen on the course at all, does it? So you are training for something that has little to do with the real game of golf.

Therefore, what you should do is get up on the range and start with a driver, then work your way down to a putter. Then walk over and putt. Then walk back to the range again, and start with a driver. This puts your body into a rhythm and its just like it is on the course. You are more apt to recall the skills needed if they are in some sequence. Top performance is like this. Real performers practice as closely to the real thing as they can. You are no exception. When you start to think this way, you can see how your are conditioning your mind with a golf strategy. Now, one more thing before I leave the topic.

There are four things you have to do, in your mind before every shot. Well, actually there is more but when you buy the CD ROM program you will get the rest of it. But, here you need to visual a little guy over where your ball is. You can put your favorite tour player over it if you want. I want you to see them swing, strike, the flight of the ball and it landing on its designated target. How many times to we pull the trigger on a shot and it goes left or right? Many times. Well, our minds will do what ever we want it to. If we want hit a spot, we show our mind what spot that its. If we don’t, it will just randomly hit the ball and we wait to see where it hits. You wouldn’t shoot a gun this way would you? Of course not, so why do you do that with your golf shot? You need to connect the swing you want, the strike you want, the flight of the ball you want, and finally where you want the ball to land. Now keep seeing this little man swing, strike, flight and target; when you have exactly what you want to do, go address the ball, and in your minds eye.. see your swing, strike, flight and target, one more time. Then open your eyes, if they were closed and just pull the trigger. You will be amazed at the outcome!

You can consider this your first golf training course using golf mental training. This is truly the psychology of golf you are starting to embrace here at vision1golf.
